FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
DENVER, May 16, 2024
OnTerra Systems (www.OnTerraSystems.com), a long-time Bing Maps reseller and the developer of the RouteSavvy product line, today announced that its RouteSavvy API+ is now available as a powerful, affordable alternative to the discontinued Bing Maps Multi-Itinerary Optimization (MIO) API.
The Bing Maps Multi-Itinerary Optimization API was a route optimization API offered within the Bing Maps for Enterprise platform. With Microsoft’s announcement that Bing Maps for Enterprise will be fully retired in June 2028, developers who built applications using the Bing Maps MIO API need to migrate to a replacement route optimization solution.
RouteSavvy API+ delivers feature-equivalent (and in many cases, expanded) capabilities compared to the retired Bing Maps MIO API, including:
- Multi-vehicle route optimization with up to 1,000 stops per request
- Time-window scheduling and driver availability constraints
- Single- and multi-day routing scenarios
- RESTful API with JSON responses
- Code samples for fast migration from Bing Maps MIO
Cost-Effective Pricing
RouteSavvy API+ is priced significantly lower than comparable enterprise route optimization APIs. Pricing starts at $999 per year for the standard tier, with seven different volume-based plans available. A free 30-day trial is also offered.
“Developers using the Bing Maps Multi-Itinerary Optimization API have invested significant time building applications around it,” said Steve Milroy, OnTerra Systems president. “RouteSavvy API+ is purpose-built as a direct replacement — with the same kinds of inputs (stops, time windows, vehicle constraints) and outputs (optimized sequences, route geometry, ETAs) developers are already familiar with. Migration is fast, and our team is available to help every step of the way.”
